ActiveState, the guys behind ActivePerl and the other ports of open source languages, as well as The One IDE, Komodo... they finally broke away from Sophos. (http://blogs.activestate.com/activestate/2006/02/free_as_in_will.html)

I'm not sure what's going to happen at this point. They have the opportunity to go in a few directions while maintaining profitability. It should be an interesting ride. I hope Komodo 4 doesn't get left behind on their move up.

Sorry for the long time away, everyone. I believe by everyone, I mean mostly me, but who is counting? Since the database disaster at the end of last year, the only database I spent time recovering was the main whatthefuck.com site. I've now managed to get the old beta database up, as well as abstractwankery and my own gallery pages. With any luck, I'll have this site filled out a bit better in short order.
